Hiroshima today

When I was a child, I was living in Hiroshima. One day my parents took me a war memorial building which had human shadow left in front of the entrance. A man died but flash by atomic bomb left his shadow. It was a shocking scene.

President Obama visited Hiroshima yesterday. It was a historical moment. The bomb was dropped on August 6th 1945 that was one week before the end of war. Did it help Imperial headquarter to hasten the cease-fire? If I were asked, I should say “yes”. The war must have continued and what is worse Soviet army must have invaded from north if it were not. I was afraid islands were divided into two like Berlin.

I have a mixed feeling that this relates sacrifice of people in city. Things are not simple. I again realized how terrible 140 thousand people were killed in a moment !
