Suntory Hakushu

I am a whisky lover. Not only drinking at bar, I like to visit distillery and taste pure whisky there. I have already visited Macallan and Grenfiddich at Speyside, Famous Grouse and Bell’s at Lowland, Talisker and Highland Park at Islands in Scotland, Bushmills, Jameson and Tullamore Dew in Ireland, Suntory at Yamazaki, etc.

This weekend, I went to Suntory distillery at Hakushu with my friend. It was a big distillery that I have ever seen located at the foot of Japan Alps. We paid Yen3,500 each and were served 18 years Hakushu, 12 years Hibiki, Jim Beam, 12 years Bowmore, etc with good hors d’oeuvre. We enjoyed different taste of whisky.

There were Ballantine’s, Laphroaig, Scapa, Canadian Club, etc., at bar as Suntory is familiar with such traditional company. It takes 2 hours train from Tokyo and is highly recommended place to visit.
